In August 2017, after many reflections, Fabienne In-Albon took the decision to retire from professional golf at the end of the 2017 season.
After six years on the European Ladies Tour (LET), it was time to say "goodby" from the European Ladies Tour. Fabienne spent six year's on the highest ranking ladies professional golf tour in Europe.
The 31-year-old from Zug looks back on a very eventful, successful but not always easy career. Her best finishes on tour were second in the 2014 Hero Women’s Indian Open and eighth in the South African Women’s Open the same year, decided that the time was right after achieving her main goal of competing in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
“I’ve had an incredible journey on the LET but I felt the time was right to take this step. I’m really going to miss it,” she said, after her friends on tour presented her with a pin flag, signed by all of the players in the field.

“My whole career was amazing, spending time with all these great people, travelling around the world and doing what I love. That’s very special and for me, achieving so many of my goals, including the Olympic Games, which was a childhood dream of mine. My career hasn’t been easy but I never stopped fighting and getting back up. The time has come where the energy tanks are empty but it has been the toughest decision in my life. I will look back on a great career with unforgettable moments and memories.
“I don’t really know what’s next but golf has been my life for 16 years and I have put all my energy in to perform at my best. I am excited for what is to come and I would like to share my experiences with young athletes, that would be a dream.”
