A. Teaching Professional Status

To become a Swiss PGA Golf Professional, the golfer must fulfil one of the following requirements:

  1. Successful completion of the Swiss PGA Education
  2. Be a member of another, recognised PGA which fulfils the educational criteria of the Confederation of Professional Golf
  3. Provide proof of a completed education through one of the following PGAs; Autralia, New Zealand, South Africa, USA or Canada

Joining Fee: CHF 250.- (one off), Blazer Badge CHF 45.- (one off)

Membership Fee: CHF 550.- (yearly)

B. Playing Professional Status

A player must fulfil the following criteria to become a Swiss PGA Temporary Professional and to benefit from a two year membership as a Temporary Playing member

Temporary Playing Professional

The player must:

  1. Be of Swiss Nationality
  2. And, either:
  • Have played for the Swiss National Amateur Team
  • Provide results from national or international tournaments

It is in the hands of the committee of the Swiss PGA to decide whether these results and the players handicap are sufficient to obtain the membership. The committee can invite the player to a Playing Ability Test.

In addition, the player must fulfil the following conditions:

Take part in at least the first level of PGA European Tour Qualifiying School, the Ladies European Tour Qualifying School, the Staysure Tour Qualifying School, the US PGA Qualifying School or another yearly Qualifying School of a recognised 1st Level Tour.

Your application must include:

  • Letter of Motivation
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Business Plan for the first two years. Including:
  1. Goals
  2. Tournament Planning
  3. Budget
  4. Sponsoring
  5. Environment (Coaching, Training Infrastructure etc)

The Business plan can be returned by the Swiss PGA Committee if considered incomplete!

Full Playing Professional

  1. In order to achieve Full Playing Professional status, the player must play at least 28 tournaments within two years (ladies and seniors 20 tournaments) which count for the Order of Merit and take part in at least the first level of PGA European Tour Qualifiying School, the Ladies European Tour Qualifying School, the Staysure Tour Qualifying School, the US PGA Qualifying School or another yearly Qualifying School of a recognized 1st Level or 2nd Level Tour.
  2. Every amateur or professional player who achieves full exemption status on a 1st or 2nd level Tour recognized by the Swiss PGA will be immediately given Full Playing Professional Status
  3. In order to retain Full Playing Professional status, the player must play at least 28 tournaments within years (ladies and seniors 20 tournaments) which count for the Order of Merit. Take part in at least the first level of PGA European Tour Qualifiying School, the Ladies European Tour Qualifying School, the Staysure Tour Qualifying School, the US PGA Qualifying School or another yearly Qualifying School of a recognised tour (eg 3rd Level Tour)

Joining Fee: CHF 250.- (one off)

Membership Fee: CHF 550.- (yearly)
