Good Results for Joel Girrbach and Benjamin Rusch

On the very challenging and almost 7 kilometers long Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, Joel Girrbach made the cut and placed 67th. He was the only Swiss in the field. Girrbach played for the fourth time this season on European Tour level.

The last two days of the competition were somewhat disappointing for Girrbach. "Of course I am disappointed with the result," he commented right after the event. However, the score looks "worse than my game was." "The place is definitely the hardest throughout the year and does not forgive mistakes. The last ten holes I could get up again and have played very solid. Of course, the result is not what I want. It was still a great week and a great test for me", he summarizes the trip to Morocco.

Benjamin Rusch has already achieved a second, third and fourth place this season on the Pro Golf Tour. A victory is still missing from the soon-to-be-30-year-old eastern Swiss in 2019. Rusch went as co-leader into the final round. But he struggled with the fron nine. With eight par and a drop shot, he had to give up the lead. However, on the backnine Rusch played a convincing 3 under par and ultimately place T3. After 11 of the 21 tournaments, he now takes 5th place on the tours order of merit. The best five at the end of the year climb up to the Challenge Tour.

For Neo-Pro Jeremy Freiburghaus the event in Austria was only the fourth tournament on the Pro Golf Tour, after his health-related break at the start of the season. After having failed the cut three times, he succeeded in Austria. With daily results of 70, 67 and 70 and a T8, he made it for the first time into the prize money. For Yann Pfeiffer, the shared tenth final rank is also the best result of the season, in his tenth tournament on this year's Pro Golf Tour.
