Death of Dölf Dieter (former Swiss PGA President)
11.02.2016

Dölf Dieter was one of the pioneers of Swiss golf professionals.

He first worked as Caddy at the Dolder Golf Club and later as a respected golf teacher and Head Professional.

Dölf was like Robert Lanz from Zurich. Both have worked as a golf instructor during the war years. Dölf got his post only because the then British golf instructor had to return from Golf Club Dolder during the war years in his home. Dölf was there, and the more than 75 years!

Dölf was the oldest member of the Swiss PGA. He has been through all the developments in golf. His stories are legendary. His wife Marlies and he wanted to emigrate to the USA. When they arrived in America, Dölf was called for military service in Vietnam. Therefore he returned to Switzerland.

Back home Dölf has taken over and continued the presidency of the Swiss PGA of Robert Lanz. He was always very keen to develop cooperation with the Amateur Association ASG and maintain. Without good cooperation with the ASG, the Swiss PGA can not be successful, was his motto.

We mourn Dölf Dieter.
