At the two-day team championship of professional golfers in Switzerland, two teaching pros win against the strong competition of the international tour players present. Gianluca Patuzzo and Simone Castelanelli are the new Team Champions 2019.

The Swiss PGA Team Championship took place on 15 and 16 April 2019 in Golfpark Waldkirch. The Par-71 course was in excellent condition and offered the players excellent conditions for an exciting competition. Only on Monday, the tournament program had to be adjusted due to the snowfall on Sunday.

A total of 70 golf professionals competed for this year's championship. In teams of 2, international tour players as well as experienced teaching pros fought for the title in the "2-ball-best-ball" format.

After a restrained round on Monday, the two Swiss tournament players Alain Jeanrenaud and Alex Messiqua rolled the field from behind with an excellent 11 under-par round. But also the two Ticino teaching pros Gianluca Patuzzo and Simone Castelanelli convinced with a total result of 11 under par. The thrilling direct duel was finally settled on the third playoff hole. Gianluca Patuzzo and Simone Castelanelli secured the title "Swiss PGA Team Champions 2019".
