Valuable exchange of experience
25.11.2019

The Regional Learning Series of the Swiss PGA is intended to be aplatform for the exchange of experience and thus for in-house focused training. In early November, the first Regional Learning Days took place in the Western, Central and Eastern regions, with each meeting chaired and moderated by an experienced Swiss PGA member. The participants of this first Regional Learning Series comment on the new training tool and also see advantages over other training options.

Regional Series
Win win win

"In this first Regional Learning I received input for my future work," says Jean-Luc Burnier, who led the meeting in region "West". "As a consequence, I will soon be meeting with the director of our club and discussing with him how we can further improve the facilities and offerings for our members. It will also be an issue to leverage synergies between the club and the pros, so that both benefit. "

Burnier addresses topics that were also discussed at the meeting in Region "East" under the direction of Paul Wesselingh. "Concrete tips on how I could improve my business did not come from this first meeting. But we had a lively discussion about how to make the pro's work more valuable to the club, and how it could benefit our core business, "says Wesselingh.

"It was first and foremost an exchange of experience," says Roman Spring. This is precisely where the discussion among colleagues and learning from each other is the key advantage of the Regional Learning Series over other forms of further education such as e.g. seminars. For Wesselingh, these discussions are very valuable: "The Regional Learning Series gives Swiss PGA members the opportunity to express their thoughts, feelings and frustrations. You can get tips and advice from colleagues and collect ideas to make your own business more positive."

Vivian John Ross agrees: "For me it was a good experience to hear how other clubs are doing, how my colleagues shape their work environment and what they think. Our colleagues in the Swiss PGA have very valuable knowledge. We should share this with each other and pass it on." One point that Jean-Luc Burnier mentions: "In our association, we have colleagues with many years of experience. Some also have ideas that others can benefit from. Above all, we Swiss PGA Pros know the needs of Swiss golfers better than any international expert who comes from abroad." He values the expertise of these experts, "their ideas and ideas are not always 100 percent applicable in Switzerland", says Burnier.

Another advantage of the Regional Learning Series: "The journey is short, the time required manageable - so you can work on the same day for a few hours", says Vivian John Ross.
