Coronavirus
17.03.2020

The Swiss PGA Board and the Swiss PGA Office are closely following the development of the situation regarding the spread of the coronavirus. The development of the situation in Switzerland is extremely dynamic. The Swiss PGA is in close contact with the responsible federal authorities (BAG/SECO), cantonal offices and our partner association Swiss Golf.

The number of cases in Switzerland is increasing rapidly. The Federal Council calls on the entire population to take responsibility. Joint action is needed to limit the number of serious illnesses and avoid overloading our health system. The protection of the population is a top priority for the Federal Council. It classifies the situation in Switzerland as a "extraordinary situation". This allows the Confederation to take exceptional measures.

The Federal Council is aware that the coronavirus and the measures taken against it have an impact on the economic and public life in Switzerland.

In view of the existing "extraordinary situation", the board of directors of the Swiss PGA has taken the following decisions:

  1. The General Assembly on April 20, 2020 will be postponed indefinitely.
  2. The Swiss PGA Team Championship 2020 and the respective ProAm are definitively cancelled.

The Swiss PGA takes these decisions to protect the health of its members and to show solidarity in our society.
