The Federal Council is relaxing the measures against the spread of Covid-19 in sport, and from 11 May 2020, under conditions such as protection concepts and hygiene regulations. This was decided by the Federal Council in its meeting today.

The relaxation steps in sport will apply from 11 May and are subject to clear guidelines. Training can be resumed in all sports and other activities. According to today's decision, the following restrictions apply: Sporting activities may only take place in small groups of a maximum of 5 people, without physical contact and in compliance with the rules of hygiene and distance.

In competitive sports, less severe restrictions apply to training. In particular, training sessions may also take place with more than 5 persons. This applies, for example, to athletes who belong to a national squad. Explicit protection concepts with strict hygiene regulations are intended to minimize the risks of transmission. In principle, relaxation is only permitted if the respective sports federation submits a detailed protection concept.

Under the leadership of Swiss Golf, a comprehensive safety concept for the first phase of the relaxation measures has bee submitted to the authorities. The Swiss PGA has received valuable input on this protection concept from various Swiss PGA members in recent days. We have brought these points into the discussions and assume that the concept will be adapted in certain respects.

Pleasing - you can play in flights of 4 and our Swiss PGA Pros can teach in small groups again. Driving ranges, restaurants and the Pro Shops are also open.

We would like to thank all those who have pro-actively supported the interests of golf and our Swiss PGA members in recent weeks, especially Swiss Golf, Swiss Olympic and the BASPO.

Let us stay tuned and make sure that our beloved sport of golf can be practiced in the future without any further restrictions through strict compliance with the hygiene regulations and distance rules at all times.
