Changes in the Swiss PGA Board
04.05.2020

2019 was a year of transition for the Swiss PGA. Behind the scenes there was a lot of hard work. The board of the Swiss PGA reviewed and questioned the structures of the association, rethought the previous strategy and developed a new, future-oriented strategy. Our 380 members will once again be placed more clearly at the centre of our activities. The task of our association is to support the Pros even better. With the new strategy, the association's organisation will be modernised and made fit for the future.

Now that the review phase has been completed, it is now a matter of consistently implementing the defined strategic directions. This implementation phase requires a great deal of personal effort on the part of everyone involved, especially the members of the Board.

In this context, we would like to inform you that Keith Marriott, Marc Chatelain, Andrea Mantoan and Gian-Luca Pattuzzo will stand for re-election for another 3 years at our next General Assembly (date still open due to the corona crisis). Russell Warner and Markus Rath, however, have decided not to run for another term for personal reasons.

With his professional knowledge and network, Russell has made a substantial contribution to the attractive further education program of the Swiss PGA. Markus was the financial conscience of the board of for many years and has contributed significantly to the fact that the Swiss PGA is now on a sound financial footing. On behalf of the Swiss PGA, we would like to thank Russell and Markus for their many years of valuable cooperation and wish them much pleasure and success, both personally and professionally.

As of May 1, Keith Marriott will take over the "Member Support Lifelong Learning" function from Russell Warner. Until further notice, he will perform this function ad interim. The Board is currently evaluating suitable candidates.

2020 Ruppen Vorstand

Patrick Ruppen

We are pleased to announce that Patrick Ruppen has agreed to serve on the Swiss PGA Board. He will take over the position of "Chief Financial Officer" from the resigning Markus Rath as of May 1, 2020 and will formally stand for election at the next General Meeting. Patrick will provide valuable support to the demanding work of the Board with his sound professional and "golfing" knowledge.

He is an independent lawyer and notary public in Brig and holds various mandates in the hotel, tourism, real estate and sports sectors. As President and Pro of the Source du Rhône Golf Club (VS) and as the operator of a pro-shop, Patrick knows the challenges of the Swiss golf market from his own experience and à fond. We wish Patrick much joy and success in his new position.
