FED Day with James Ridyard

Led by James Ridyard, co-owner of the "Short Game Secrets" brand, the Short Game Education Day was well attended.

The Swiss PGA's Further Education Days' programme for professionals continues this autumn and attracts many Swiss PGA Professional’s who ware passionate to improve their knowledge and skill. This workshop was dedicated to the short game and led by James Ridyard, an internationally recognised specialist who currently coaches multiple major champions such as Justin Rose and Francesco Molinari. Ovetr thirty members of the Swiss PGA were present. The day consisted of theoretical presentations, demonstrations and practical exercises at Golfpark Moossee.

Emilie Bruchez, teaching professional at the Golfclub du Domaine du Brésil and a member of the Swiss PGA Board, said, "It was instructive, specific and high level oriented". The combination of theory and practical exercises was particularly appreciated: “James Ridyard short game presentation was outstanding, gave me lots of good ideas and feel that I’m chipping better already!” said Gary Hanham, Swiss PGA Professional at Golfclub Lucerne. “It was a fantastic day, I really enjoyed the combination of theory, presentation and then practical, even if it was raining. The outdoor practical with James was really enjoyable and I think it’s really going to help me coach the members of my club better.” commented Michael Coventon. Others, like Richard Swords, teaching professional at the Golf & Country Club of Basel, always appreciate the opportunity to meet and interact with world-class coaches: “It’s wonderful to have Further Education Days with world-class presenters, like we had with Lee Cox about Long Driving, and today with James Ridyard, the short game specialist. These guys are working with some of the best players in the world and it’s very refreshing to get new ideas which I can take back to the golfclub, and hopefully help my students to play better.”

This year's final Further Education Day will take place at Golfpark Oberkirch on 7 November with Steve Furlonger bringing the latest technological expertise on the forces at play in the Swing and Power Generation.
