61st Memorial Olivier Barras: Pedro Messerli Best Swiss, Swiss PGA Professionals Just Miss Top 10

German amateur Frederik Eisenbeis claimed victory at the 61st Memorial Olivier Barras after a dramatic final. Finishing at eight under par after three rounds, he went into a playoff with the equally impressive Italian Carlo Roman. Both had edged ahead of the field during the tournament, with Eisenbeis turning in rounds of 69, 65 (bogey-free), and 68. Roman forced the playoff with a strong finish, including a streak of three birdies on the final day.

The playoff took place on the pressure-packed par-4 18th hole. With a solid par, Eisenbeis secured the win and a coveted spot in the Omega European Masters.

Pedro Messerli narrowly missed the playoff. Despite a rough start in the opening round, which included a double and triple bogey, he fought back with rounds of 73, 67, and 66, finishing at seven under par – just one stroke behind the leaders. He was the best Swiss amateur and tied with the top professional on the leaderboard.

Dennis Fuchs also performed well. After opening with a 73, he improved significantly with rounds of 65 and 68, finishing among the top players and earning prize money.

Swiss PGA Professionals Just Outside the Top 10

The top Swiss PGA professionals all finished at three under par (210 strokes), placing them in a tie for 12th place, just one shot outside the top 10:

  • Michael Weppernig – 70 / 72 / 68

  • Justin Brink – 70 / 70 / 70

  • Thomas Lecomte – 72 / 68 / 70

  • Alessandro Noseda – 68 / 71 / 71

All four delivered consistent performances over three rounds but came up just short of cracking the top 10.

Playoff Decides Women's Event as Well

The women's tournament also came down to a playoff. Mélissa Gilloz prevailed on the 10th hole against Carina Stauffer. Stauffer had held a clear lead after two rounds but faltered with an 80 in the final round, losing her advantage. Gilloz capitalized with a strong 69 to force the playoff. Anaïs Arafi was also in contention throughout but missed the playoff by one stroke, partly due to a double bogey on the par-5 15th.
