Another Milestone in an Outstanding Season

Albane Valenzuela continues to shine on the LPGA Tour, solidifying her status as one of the most promising golfers in the world. At the Kroger Queen City Championship in Ohio, she secured an impressive shared seventh place — her third top-10 finish of the season. With a total score of -13, Valenzuela positioned herself to contend for a top-three finish, or even victory, as she entered the final round.

On the challenging course at TPC River's Bend, Valenzuela particularly excelled in the second round. A brilliant 66 (-6), including two eagles, rocketed her to the top of the leaderboard. It was a remarkable performance, reaffirming her superb form and reflecting the upward trajectory her career has taken recently. This came just a week after representing Team Europe at the prestigious Solheim Cup — another significant achievement in what has been a hugely successful year for her.

Valenzuela is undoubtedly playing the best season of her career on the LPGA Tour. With three top-10 finishes and consistent strong performances throughout the year, she now stands on the verge of qualifying for the CME Group Tour Championship, the season finale reserved for the top 60 players on the tour. Currently ranked 31st in the Order of Merit, she is well on her way to securing a spot in the final, further showcasing her progress and potential.

Morgane Métraux also competed in the Kroger Queen City Championship. While she didn’t quite match her compatriot’s performance, Métraux still managed to make the cut for the fourth consecutive time on the LPGA Tour. With a final score of -2, she finished the tournament tied for 69th place.

For both Swiss players, the tournament was another chapter in what is proving to be a defining season for Swiss golf. While Valenzuela continues to deliver her best performances and inch closer to the top of the golfing world, Métraux is also demonstrating her ability to compete on the international stage. Thanks to these two exceptional athletes, the future of Swiss golf looks very promising.

This season, Albane Valenzuela has repeatedly shown she has the potential to establish herself among the world’s best golfers. With her current form, she could become a serious contender for major titles in the coming years.
