Chiara Tamburlini delivered an impressive performance at the second major tournament of the year, the US Women's Open. The talented golfer from St. Gallen finished the prestigious event at the Erin Hills Golf Club in Wisconsin tied for 14th place.

After an excellent start to the tournament, where she posted a total of four under par after the first two rounds, Tamburlini held her own against the international competition. With a final score of Even Par after four rounds, she brought the tournament to a solid conclusion, once again confirming her strong form on the global stage.

This result further solidified Tamburlini's position as the current best Swiss golfer. She is ranked number 1 in Switzerland and continues to build on her impressive career. As the winner of last year’s Ladies European Tour season standings, she is also the highest-ranked Swiss player in the world rankings.

The victory at the US Women’s Open went to Sweden's Maja Stark, who claimed her first major title with a total score of seven under par. The second-place spot was shared by Nelly Korda (USA), the current world number 1, and Rio Takeda (Japan), both just two shots behind the winner.

The other two Swiss players in the field, Albane Valenzuela from Geneva and Kim Métraux from Lausanne, missed the cut. Valenzuela fell short by four shots, while Métraux was 16 shots behind the cut line.
