Swiss PGA Playing Member Fiorino Clerici celebrated another outstanding success on the Pro Golf Tour by claiming the title at the Gradi Polish Open 2026. The victory marks an important milestone for the Swiss professional, who bounced back in style after a difficult run of form.

The week, however, could hardly have started under more challenging circumstances. Clerici did not even know until Monday evening that he would be competing in Poland, as he had been attempting to qualify for the Vaudreuil Challenge A delayed journey meant there was little time to prepare, leaving him with just enough opportunity for a quick practice round before heading to bed, tired and without any particular expectations.

Despite the difficult preparation, Clerici opened the tournament with a solid 2-under-par 68. Looking back, he felt there was still plenty of room for improvement. After recovering from the travel and gaining confidence, he produced exactly that in the second round, firing a brilliant 8-under-par 62 to move into the lead.

The final round brought strong winds and demanding playing conditions, but Clerici kept his focus throughout the day.

"I simply concentrated on the next shot and let the round unfold. Fortunately, some of the other players struggled in the conditions."

A key factor behind his victory was his exceptional performance on the greens.

"My putting was excellent throughout all three rounds. I didn't miss a single putt inside three to four metres, and that obviously made a huge difference."

Remaining calm under pressure, Clerici completed the tournament at 16-under par, securing victory by three strokes and earning one of the most satisfying wins of his career.

Reflecting on the week, he said:

"I'm incredibly happy with this victory and proud of the way I handled the entire situation—from the uncertainty before travelling to Poland to staying composed throughout the tournament."
