Joel Girrbach is heading to Paris and will tee up at the Olympic Games!

The 30-year-old from Thurgau, who ranked highly among the reserve players in the Olympic Golf Ranking after the qualification phase, secured his spot at the Olympics through the reallocation process. This ticket was validated by Swiss Olympic through the acceptance of the selection request from Swiss Golf.

For the first time in history, Swiss men's golf will be represented at the Olympic Games. Joel Girrbach will compete at Le Golf National from August 1st to 4th. The women's tournament, featuring Albane Valenzuela and Morgane Métraux, will follow from August 7th.

"I am very proud to be the first man to represent Swiss golf at the Olympic Games," said the Lipperswil native. "There has been a lot of uncertainty recently, but I am very happy. This tournament will definitely be something special and I am really looking forward to it!"
