Kim Métraux finishes Top 5 and recordes her 6th Hole-in-one
24. March 2025
Swiss PGA member Kim Métraux de Heer delivered a great performance at the Ford Women’s NSW Open held at Wollongong Golf Club, Australia, from March 20-23, 2025. Métraux achieved an impressive fifth-place finish, marking a significant comeback following a challenging start to the season.
Located south of Sydney in New South Wales, the picturesque seaside course provided Métraux the perfect environment to rediscover her rhythm. Reflecting on her recent struggles, Métraux explained, "After conversations with my mother and a very creative Australian player, I realized that lately, I hadn't really been playing golf. I was overly focused on technical aspects rather than letting my natural game flow. Changing my mindset allowed me to find much better sensations on the course without overanalyzing my swing."
This refreshed mental approach paid immediate dividends. Métraux showcased remarkable consistency throughout the tournament, finishing with scores all under 70 (67, 68, 69, and 69) for an overall 11-under-par. Her opening round of 67, executed under windy conditions, set the stage for her successful weekend.
Adding to her memorable performance, Métraux achieved her sixth career hole-in-one during Sunday's final round on the 10th hole—the second hole-in-one of her Ladies European Tour career. She described this achievement as "the cherry on the Australian cake."
The tournament victory went to England's Mimi Rhodes, who concluded the event at 17-under-par, closely followed by Australia's Kirsten Rudgeley at 15-under-par. Métraux’s excellent result has elevated her to 25th place on the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit.
