Lausanne native Kim Métraux has secured her place in the 2025 US Women’s Open at Erin Hills (Wisconsin) after a strong performance at the European qualifier in France.

Métraux earned her spot as the first alternate after finishing in third place, just behind the two direct qualifiers. Last week, three additional spots were opened in the US Open field – and one of them was awarded to the top alternate from the European event: Kim Métraux!

"I’m really happy to have made it, and I’m super excited for the US Women’s Open," said Métraux after securing her spot. "It’s a great opportunity to showcase my skills on one of the biggest stages in golf."

Métraux also impressed at the Dutch Ladies Open. Despite a setback with a triple bogey on the first day, she bounced back to finish in 19th place with rounds of 72, 71, and 71.

"I’m very happy with my performance, especially my long shots. It was a solid showing, even though I missed a few putts on the bumpy greens," said the 27-year-old.

The tournament title went to England’s Mimi Rhodes, who finished with a total score of nine under par.

Next up for Kim Métraux is the Jabra Ladies Open in Evian – a tournament she knows well. "Evian is the perfect preparation for a major. The course demands precise ball striking, and the greens are fast – just like in a Grand Slam setting," said Métraux.

For the Swiss PGA, Kim Métraux’s success is another example of how targeted development and hard work can pay off on the international stage. As a Swiss PGA Playing Pro, she embodies the values of the association: excellence, commitment, and international competitiveness.

The Swiss golfer will soon open an exciting new chapter in her career at Erin Hills – and the golf world eagerly awaits her performance at the 2025 US Women’s Open.
