Albane and Morgane Officially Selected

News

27. June 2024

Swiss Olympic has announced the selection of Albane Valenzuela and Morgane Métraux for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Both Swiss PGA members are proud and thrilled with this achievement.

Albane Valenzuela and Morgane Métraux have officially been selected for the Olympic Games in Paris! The two Swiss players qualified thanks to their rankings among the top 60 players in the Olympic Golf Rankings. However, the final selection by Swiss Olympic was still pending. This confirmation came on Thursday, June 27, and it is now official that these two professionals will compete at Le Golf National from August 7 to 10.

"I am very happy and proud to represent Switzerland for the third time at the Olympic Games," said 26-year-old Geneva native Albane Valenzuela. "It was one of my biggest goals this season and an event I did not want to miss. I can't wait to be there!"

For 27-year-old Lausanne native Morgane Métraux, this will be her first Olympic Games. Three years ago, she made the tough decision to skip Tokyo to maximize her chances for qualification on the LPGA Tour. "I am so happy that it worked out this time. Representing Switzerland at the world's largest sporting event fills me with great pride," said Morgane Métraux. "I was so disappointed back then to make the difficult choice not to go to Tokyo. Requalifying remained a huge goal for me. I am looking forward to this experience, which I imagine will be absolutely incredible!"

Congratulations to Albane and Morgane on this remarkable achievement!
