Swiss PGA Responds to European Tour Group Disciplinary Sanction of Cedric Gugler
24. November 2025
The Swiss PGA, as the association of professional golfers in Switzerland, today issued the following statement in response to the recent disciplinary sanction imposed on Cedric Gugler by the European Tour Group for a breach of the Code of Behaviour during a tournament:
"As the association of professional golfers in Switzerland, we represent more than 40 members who are playing various tours worldwide. We are proud of their past achievements and wish to help them achieve their goals in the future.
As of 2026, these players will have access to education modules which will be useful while on tour and also a preparation for a future in golf after their playing careers are over. The module 'Rules' will be compulsory for any amateur who wishes to turn professional by joining our PGA.
Hopefully these measures will prevent any unfortunate and unintentional breach in the future and our members will be recognised as an example of professionalism and integrity.”
The Swiss PGA remains committed to upholding the highest standards in the sport and supporting its members through education and professional development.
