From 13 to 15 August 2026, Holzhäusern will become the hotspot of international women's golf. The top players of the Ladies European Tour will gather for the 7th VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open – with Swiss hopefuls, free admission, EUR 350,000 in prize money and worldwide live coverage.
Roughly a month earlier than usual, the largest and most important international tournament in Switzerland for professional women golfers will be staged at Migros Golfpark Holzhäusern. The reason is the scheduling of this year's Solheim Cup, the prestigious biennial contest between the best American and the best European players. The women's counterpart to the men's Ryder Cup takes place in mid-September at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, the Netherlands.
Switzerland's currently strongest professional, Chiara Tamburlini, has been competing on the US-based LPGA Tour since this season and currently sits in 90th place in the world ranking. The Swiss player's participation in her home tournament on the picturesque shores of Lake Zug has not yet been finally confirmed and will depend on her results in the upcoming events. Confirmed in the field are Morgane Métraux, who played on the LPGA Tour until 2025, and Vanessa Knecht. Both are directly eligible to tee it up thanks to their LET status. Kim Métraux de Heer will not be on the start sheet, as she is taking a break due to her pregnancy. The Swiss contingent will be rounded out by several invitations (wildcards). One of these coveted invitations goes to 19-year-old amateur Sarah Uebelhart from Hünenberg See. The young talent from Golf Club Ennetsee is studying at Clemson University in South Carolina, USA, and plays for the college team of the Clemson Tigers.
Defending champion Alice Hewson is also guaranteed to be in the field. The Englishwoman wrote tournament history in 2025 when, with a closing total of 200 strokes (-13), she became the first player ever to claim a second VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open title "back to back". In the race for the coveted wooden cow trophy "Muuhligan", the 27-year-old will therefore be the hunted in Holzhäusern.
The VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open has plenty to offer beyond the sporting action: in the Public Village, event partners will present themselves, while a varied catering offering will provide food and refreshments. In the traditional Beat-the-Pro Challenge, ten girls from Swiss Golf's Golf4Girls development programme will take on the LET's top stars in the middle of the final round. The venue for this exciting side event is the 8th hole. Admission is free for sports and golf enthusiasts on all three tournament days. Anyone looking for something more exclusive will enjoy the best view of the action from the VP Bank Lounge at the 18th green. Tickets for this offer, including catering, are limited.
Those who cannot make the trip to Holzhäusern can best follow the LET players' game – marked by dynamism, precision and grace – live on TV: as official National Broadcasting Partner, SRF will broadcast every tournament round. The international TV production will also be aired in more than 80 countries worldwide.
